Third: Moderation

Moderation in eating means eat the amount of food enough for you and you are happy with it. There are some simple steps you can do to maintain this habit:

  • Eat the right amount of food when you feel hungry and stop just when you're full. You don't need to finish the whole dish, store it for the next meal, however, try not to leave out food so many times. Pay attention to your meal then estimate the right portion for you that you can finish it.

  • Stop emotional eating which usually leads to overeating.

  • Try to eat less cake, pizza, ice cream or try the lower-fat and lower-sugar versions.

Eat the amount of food that you are happy with.

In her Five-Finger Food Guide, Mrs.Margaret Marshall suggests readers a good way to check whether they should stop eating by focusing on the breath. Normally, you will start breathing heavier and sometimes sigh when you are full. And that is the right time to end your meal.
